The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.

Management Transition Comes After Lukewarm Response

The new appointee steps into the leadership position at the development studio following the dismissal of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing initial reveal last autumn.

On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure notified staff about this organizational change through an internal memo, which emphasized that playtesting had shown the requirement for a distinct direction.

Ismailer noted that the team is now refining Project Ethos with a refreshed approach, aiming to satisfy player expectations.

The news follows a similar action taken by the publisher in August, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to work on the beloved franchise development group.

I understand you all just wrapped up your town hall - I trust you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the positive developments. Last time I sent you all a message, I stated the following: “I am confident in this group. You all are some of the most driven and creative designers we have had the pleasure to collaborate with - and we’re looking forward for that relationship to continue.”

With your dedication and flexibility, especially over the last year, you consistently demonstrate that.

The community feedback from last autumn’s the game playtest was revealing. It confirmed the potential of a action-packed game but told us we still had refinements needed. It revealed the requirement for a more distinct brand.

It has been motivating to see how far you’ve advanced. You embraced the feedback to mind and revamped Project ETHOS with a refreshed vision - one that’s ready to deliver on its promise to our players.

The belief in Project ETHOS increases every day. To advance the incredible progress you’ve made, I am thrilled to welcome Ben Brinkman as the latest Lead of the team. After a period of talks, he starts with us on the specified date.

His management and background in the competitive gaming genre is vast, having dedicated the past decade and a half creating and managing some of the most recognizable series in the industry, for example the acclaimed shooter, and most recently, the battle royale hit.

Brinkman presently serves in the position of executive producer and production lead at the renowned studio for their flagship title. He earlier worked at Treyarch and Activision in various development positions on the Call of Duty games, and, prior to that, had stints at 2K and Electronic Arts.

Title Information and Concept

Project Ethos was announced in last year in conjunction with a public demo. Then, 31st Union portrayed the title as a "no-cost, 3rd-person action-packed experience and an innovative advancement on the style."
